Lecture delivered on the security of border in Dhubri

DHUBRI: An enlightening lecture on the security of border was delivered by former Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University, Dr. Kuldip Chand Agnihotri. It was organized by Dhubri unit of Simanta Chetana Manch, Purvottar at Dhubri District Library Auditorium. The topic of enlightenment lecture was, 'Border Security, National Security and Duty of Citizens'.

In his hour long lecture, eminent scholar, Dr Agnihotri enthralled the hall-packed audience by a threadbare and important description of historical facts of border with China and North East India. Dr Agnihotri while speaking on the aggression of China against India by grabbing the land of India, he regretted on the fact that the then government made a stoic silence and allowed the expansion of China.

He also very elaborately described the history of aggression by which China captured Tibet and still eyeing on the land across North-West and North-East India.

"It is high time that each and every citizen of India should not only be enlightened on the fact of China's aggression and policy of expansion, but also play a positive role to protect the border areas of the country," Dr. Agnihotri appealed. At the onset of the programme, President of State Simanta Chetana Mancha, Purvottar, Dr. Pratima Neogi spoke at a length on the history of formation of Simanta Chetana Mancha Purvottar and explained the purpose of the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by principal of Dhubri Medical College and Hospital, Dr. Ankumoni Saikia, principal of Bholanath College, Dhubri, Dr. Dhruba Chakrabortty, prominent academician, Dr. Dwipendra Kumar Adhikari and high officials of BSF.

On the other hand, a similar lecture on border security and role of citizens, was also delivered by Dr. Agnihotri in Bholanath College, Dhubri which was jointly organized by the college and Dhubri unit of Simanta Chetana Mancha Purvottar.
