''Let me be an Educator": Victor Das Appeals to Education Department

GUWAHATI: Victor Das has rocked the very foundation from where the present government claims to provide 1 lakh jobs to unemployed aspirants across the state.

Das through a tweet alleged that there is a huge market in operation in connection to the 26000 posts of Grade III and IV.

Das said that brokers were charging a whopping 3-8 lakhs from aspirants depending upon the post and guaranteeing them a place in the final selection list.

Hours after he made such a claim, the Guwahati Police picked him up from his residence and slapped sections 120B, 153, 153A, 384, and 505 of the Indian Penal Code on him.

Interestingly all these sections do not apply to his case because of which the Gauhati High Court granted him Interim bail on 16th September stating all the sections on him as "baseless" and "not applicable".

The State Education department suspended Victor on Tuesday stating the Assam Service (Discipline and Appeal) Rules 1964, which says that any government servant who was detained in custody, whether on a criminal charge or otherwise, for a period exceeding 48 hours shall be deemed to have been suspended.

After the order was passed Victor took to Facebook and appealed to the government to let him be an educator and let him teach and that he will serve his students until his last breath.

Earlier, On September 13, the office of the district elementary education, Kamrup, in a notification stated that Victor Das has been placed under suspension considering the report of the head teacher of Panitema Radha Krishna Jugal Milan L.P. School with immediate effect.

Victor added in his Facebook post, "I here would like to thank all the people of Assam who supported me, my students and their parent and I do hereby also would like to state that I am a simple educator who just loves his students and would go to any extent for their good".
