MANGALDAI: "The linguistic minority community living in 67 Mangaldai (SC) LAC has always been deprived by the legislator Guru Jyoti Das. The names of a genuine good number of persons belonging to the linguistic minority community in Mangaldai have been left out from the NRC who has also been deprived of the land patta distribution. The so called projection of the BJP as the saviour of the Hindu Bengali is fake. And this is the reason why this often neglected community has been compelled to take the final decision of boycotting BJP candidate Guru Jyoti Das in the ensuing election," said former Executive Member of BTC and BPF secretary Jagadish Sarkar while talking to The Sentinel on Sunday evening.

Jagadish Sarkar accompanied by Congress candidate and former Minister Basanta Das, former BJP leader turned Congress activist Pinku Das and number of leaders of a Bengali social organization recently visited the linguistic minority dominated areas of Mangaldai LAC and appealed to them to vote for the Congress. A good number of linguistic minority community persons originally from the BJP joined the Congress. The decision of the linguistic minority community in Mangaldai LAC would surely pose as a threat to BJP candidate Guru Jyoti Das.
