Litterateur and educationist Rabin Chaudhury remembered in Doomdooma

DOOMDOOMA: The commemorative meeting of litterateur and educationist Rabin Chaudhury was organized at Doomdooma Sakha Xahitya Xabha (DSXX) Bhaban on Wednesday with president Bimala Baruah in the chair. In the beginning, president Bimala Baruah lit the lamp in front of his portrait.
Dr Prafulla Medhi, who attended the meeting as chief guest, reminisced his association with Chaudhury as a colleague at Doomdooma College, of which Chaudhury was the longest serving Principal so far and acknowledged the support he had received from him as his friend, philosopher and guide. Dr Medhi highlighted the rare quality of Chaudhury's sense of humour that found manifestation in everything big and small and his positive attitude to maintain social harmony among all sections of people. The meeting was attended by Chaudhury's 90-year-old friend Bhuban Deka, relatives Nirala Chaudhury and Tuman Chaudhury and others.
Arjun Baruah, president, Tinsukia Zila Xahitya Xabha, Mamoni Patowari, Dipti Thakur Goswami spoke briefly about Chaudhury while Anima Debroy read out her self-composed poem.
