Maharashtra Ministers Arrive in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Several ministers of the Maharastra Cabinet including the new chief minister of the state have come for a visit to the largest city of Northeast India.

Eknath Sambhaji Shinde is the current Chief Minister of the Indian state of Maharastra. He was in the capital of Assam for several days before he was selected as the new chief minister of the state following the distance between two sections of the Shiv Sena party members and supporters.

While most of the other ministers started arriving early in the morning, Eknath Sambhaji Shinde is scheduled to arrive at the Guwahati Airport early in the afternoon.

One of the members of the group mentioned that the chief ministers had sought the blessings of blessings from Maa Kamakhya Devi before officially applying for the position and he received it. So he wants senior members of his organisation to visit the temple again and seek blessings from the Mother Goddess for the smooth conduct of all political and internal affairs.

The delegation is said to have between 100 to 200 members. The team will be visiting the Kamakhya temple on the evening of Saturday. They will also take part in a special Aarti in the temple premises on the morning of Sunday.

The number of political leaders visiting the famous temple has grown manifold in recent times, especially after Himanta Biswa Sarma took the position as the Assam CM. The most recent leader to visit was the President of India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have already visited the temple premises along with several Chief Ministers and other union ministers.

This is a very positive step, especially for the tourism sector of the state as the publicity encourages more and more domestic tourists to the state from all across the country.
