Mahila Association of Dhan Gola organized Karam festival in Gossaigaon

Gossaigaon: The members of the Mahila Association of Dhan Gola organized a day long programme at Nasrailbil village under Gossaigaon sub-division of Kokrajhar district to celebrate the 2nd Karam Festival. The main theme of the festival was “The greatness of rich adivasi culture shall always keep the society united.” The programme started with the flag hoisting followed by bringing their religious Karam tree with a cultural procession.

MLA 28 LAC, Majendra Narjary attended the programme as the chief guest whereas Director of KVK, Kokrajhar M Bhuyan and many others attended the event as the guests of honour. Talks on various issues such as Karma Utsav, government schemes and facilities, cultural dance & equipments, subsistence agriculture, rural youth & education development, Unity is Strentgh and women empowerment were held during the programme. The programme concluded with the returning of the Karma tree. While talking to the media persons the organizers stated that the Karam festival has brought great changes in the society in marching forward towards devlopment, awareness, empowerment and all level of resources which can shape and enlighten the community. simultaneously they have also thanked the local public for making the festival a grand success.
