BONGAIGAON: The Mahila Samaroh-2021, organized by Bongaigaon Zila Parishad, was held on Wednesday at Bongaigaon College Field. State Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Phani Bhushan Choudhury was the chief guest of the event and ceremonially distributed replica keys of Scootys to five Jeevika Sakhis of NRLM under the scheme Jeevika Sakhi Express, in the presence of Deputy Commissioner of Bongaigaon Dr. M.S Lakhsmi Priya, president of Zilla Parishad, Bijoy Singha, CEO Zilla Parishad, Nadira Jesmin and other officials.

A total of 99 Jeevika Sakhis of Bongaigaon district will avail Scootys under the scheme. During the event, sanction letters under Assam Government's special initiative- VKAMS (Vistarit Kanaklata Mahila Sabalikaran) subsidy scheme -were distributed to 25 Self-Help Groups. More than 1,000 SHG members attended the meeting.
