Man commits suicide

NAGAON, July 8: Sensation prevailed in Nagaon town on Saturday noon soon after a middle-aged man committed suicide by jumping into the Kolong river from the ADP Bridge in Nagaon town. According to sources, the deceased has been identified as Nijamuddin of Morigaon district. The sources added that Nijamuddin and his wife had come to Nagaon for medical treatment and had got down from a bus at Morigaon stand. They were walking towards Nagaon Circuit House over the ADP Bridge. When they reached the middle of the bridge, Nijamuddin surprisingly pushed his wife aside and jumped into the Kolong river. The police rushed to the spot and called the SDRF personnel for rescue. After prolonged search, in the evening SDRF personnel were able to find his body.
