Man kills pregnant wife, threw the body into Assam's Dibru River

DOOMDOOMA: One Sehbaz Mohammad (23) of Gorumara, Line of Prabhat TE near Rupai Siding killed his pregnant wife Kashmira khatoon (20) on October 7 and threw the body into the Dibru River.

According to police, Sehbaz married Kashmira, daughter of Lal Mahammad of Shankardev Nagar of Doomdooma town on May 16 this year and since then Sehbaz had been living in his father-in-law's house. On October 2 he went to his residence at Gorumara Line leaving his wife at her residence and on October 7 midnight he called his wife over phone and asked her to come to the road for some urgent talk. When she came out, Sehbaz took her on his bike to Samdang bypass and killed her and threw the body into the Dibru River from the bridge. Next morning Kashmira's father informed Sehbaz about her missing and filed an FIR at Doomdooma PS. Sehbaz also filled a separate FIR at the same PS. Police registered a case and began investigation. On suspicion, police detained Sehbaz and interrogated him during which he revealed the fact. Police arrested Sehbaz and recovered the body from the river on Wednesday. The gruesome murder created a strong repercussions at Doomdooma town. Various women's organisations have demanded strong punishment for the culprit.
