MANGALDAI: Mangaldai Police in their continuing drive has realized a total amount of Rs. 102500.00 as penalty from the bike defaulters within only three days. Following the strict instructions of the Superintendent of Police Amrit Bhuyan, a team of Mangaldai Police headed by Officer in Charge Inspector Niranjan Barua with active assistance from Town Branch In Charge Sub Inspector Latuk Das, Sub Inspector Dantejit Deuri and In Charge of Traffic Wing Gokul Deka have launched a thorough checking of all vehicles at different points of the district headquarters town and imposed fine as per provision of the law for the offences of driving without helmet, not wearing masks, taking pillion riders and taking more than three persons in cars. Significantly, a large number of bikers were found riding without driving license, registration certificate and valid insurance certificate.

Talking to The Sentinel Officer in Charge Inspector Niranjan Barua said that police would continue their drive against the violators of the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act. "The people should realize the importance of wearing masks to prevent the spreading of COVID-19 and should wear helmets only to save their precious lives," he added.
