Manipur Landslide: Bodies of labourers cremated in Morigaon district

MORIGAON: A tearful situation prevailed in entire Kushtoli GP under Laharighat constituency as the bodies of the four labourers – Gupal Phukan, Harmuhan Deka, Pallab Laram and Dipankar Bordoloi – reached the district.

The bodies were cremated at the public cremation ground in presence of relatives, district administration officials and local public. The Assam Government led by minister Pijush Hazarika took major initiative to bring back the bodies of the four labourers from Manipur.

Earlier, Morigaon district administration paid respect to the four labourers. The district administration, led by Deputy Commissioner Prakash Ranjan Gharphalia and Superintendent of Police Aparna Natarajan, offered floral tribute on their coffins.
