DIBRUGARH: Two webinars, one national and other international, organized by Manohari Devi Kanoi Girls' College here on July 24 and July 25 respectively, concluded successfully.

The national webinar on 'Relevance of Ancient Indian Wisdom for Sustainable living in the context of Global Pandemic', jointly organized by the Department of Sanskrit and Department of Philosophy on July 24, was attended by the vice-president of Vivekananda Kendra, Kanya Kumari, Padma Shri Nivedita Raghunath Bhide and Prof Devendra Mohan, Department of Environmental Engineering, IIT, BHU, as speakers.

In her deliberation on yoga in life, Padma Shri Nivedita Bhide very lucidly explained how practice of yoga helped to face the challenges, both physical and mental, during this trying time.

Prof. Devendra Mohan, in his address, explained that though 'Deep Ecology' was a western concept but it had been with our legacy since time immemorial. He emphasized natural internal bond among all species of biosphere and how the age-old ancient Indian wisdom of nature as home for all forms of life could help at the time of global pandemic.

The international webinar, organized in collaboration with Rashtriya Sanskrit Mancha, Assam on July 25, was addressed as speaker by an eminent scholar from the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, College of Medicine, University of Florida, USA, Professor Satyanarayana on the topic 'Human Embryology : Modern versus Vedic Science'.

Professor Satyanarayana gave a very lucid presentation about how the stages of development of foetus inside the womb as learnt through modern science had been mentioned in exactly the same manner in the Srimadbhagavat Puran and Vedas ages back, which proved that these were known to ancient Indian seers without using apparatus but through their deep spiritual power. Principal of MDKG College, Dr Nibedita Phukan delivered a welcome address in both the webinars.
