Mass defection to BJP in Dima Hasao as 37 join from Congress, TMC

HAFLONG: In a significant development, 37 prominent individuals from diverse communities, including leaders from the Congress and Trinamool Congress, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Dima Hasao district, Assam. The joining ceremony took place at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan in Haflong on Wednesday. Notable persons who defected are John Baged Changsan, Former Mandal Youth President and prominent INC leader, Haominsang Lhoujiem, Former DCC V-P and Youth leader, Satminthang Khongsai, Prominent Leader of TMC (Dima Hasao) and Secretary of Assam TMC. Other notable individuals who joined the BJP include Thonchinsang Changsan, Surjoy Bh Thapa, Patsus Chetri, and several others.

DHAC CEM Debolal Gorlosa welcomed the new members and expressed hope that they would contribute to the district’s development. Satminthang Khongsai explained the reasons behind the decision to join the BJP, assuring that he would work together for Dima Hasao’s progress.
