BONGAIGAON: In synchronization with the Assam Government's massive door-to-door awareness campaign titled 'Jono Jagaron' on COVID-19, which has started from Wednesday across the entire State, a massive COVID-19 awareness campaign started in Bongaigaon district too.

To mark the start of the campaign, Bongaigaon district administration organized a COVID-19 awareness rally on Wednesday in association with District Health Society, Bongaigaon from the DC's office premises, which was flagged off by Dr. M.S Lakshmi Priya, Deputy Commissioner of Bongaigaon. A special cap symbolically representing the COVID-19 virus - an innovative idea of the Bongaigaon DC, was also used in the rally.

The aim of this awareness drive is to reach out to every household, specifically the population which might have been overlooked previously with more emphasis on ramping up for voluntary testing and adherence to protocol. The campaign will focus on ensuring that each household receives the message on how to deal with the deadly virus, maintaining COVID-19 appropriate behaviour and home isolation protocol. Apart from District HQ, awareness rallies have been organized at various places across the district such as Chalantapara, Manikpur, and Abhayapuri. Assistant Commissioner Shivansh Awasthi, Dr. Nil Madhab Das, Joint DHS, and other dignitaries were present.

HAILAKANDI: An awareness rally on COVID-19 was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner, Hailakandi, Megh Nidhi Dahal here on Wednesday morning. Flagging off the rally from his office campus in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner, RK Dam, Joint Director, Health Services, Dr.Ashutosh Barman and other senior health officials, Deputy Commissioner, Dahal called upon the participants comprising health and Anganwadi workers to spread awareness among the people on COVID-19 disease and the need to undergo Rapid Antigen Test to contain the disease.

Dahal asked the participants to visit the doorstep of the people in every ward under Hailakandi municipality areas and elsewhere to remove the misconceptions on COVID-19 and underscore the need to adopt precautionary and preventive steps vis-a-vis maintaining all COVID-19 protocols to bring the disease under control.

The number of participants in the rally have been kept to a bare minimum of 30 keeping in view the COVID-19 guidelines.
