Massive protest against Microfinance Companies in Naharkatia

Naharkatia: Under the aegis of Dibrugarh District Mahila Xoseton Mancha and Naharkatia Regional unit of Mohila Xoseton Mancha, a massive gathering against microfinance companies started from Naharkatia Nagaon Tiniali field.

Over 7,000 people from Naharkatia, Dibrugarh, Sivasagar, Charaidow district and Tinsukia district participated in the protest against microfinance companies and private banks. The protesters shouted various slogans against microfinance companies and private banks. The president of Dibrugarh District Mahila Xoseton Mancha, Anupama Phukan, said, “Government and administration should take strong action against these microfinance companies and private banks. These companies do not follow any rules and regulations of the Reserve Bank of India,” she alleged.
