TAMULPUR: The flood has disrupted the lives of the people of the Tamulpur district. The rising waters of the rivers Pagaladia, Barnadi, Balti, Baralia and Matanga flowing from Bhutan hills have submerged vast areas of the district.

Several houses and properties have been washed away, while several revenue villages like Hahkata, Balabari, Chapatal, Salikanda, Barbilla, Dakhin Gandhibari, Uttar Gandhibari, Niz Dafeli, Dongargaon etc. have been submerged. The Tamulpur district administration has set up many flood shelter camps at various places to accommodate the flood-affected people. The district administration is providing adequate food items and drinking water to the flood victims as well as health care.

Meanwhile, MCLA of No 26 Darangajuli constituency of BTR, visited flood relief camps at Hahkata, Balabari Milan M E School, Balabari Lower Primary School etc. to take stock of the condition of the flood victims. He interacted with the inmates and asked them to contact him directly if they face any difficulties.
