KOKRAJHAR: As contribution towards battling against the spread of COVID-19, LICI (Life Insurance Corporation of India), Bongaigaon Divisional office and ANT (Action Northeast Trust) NGO, Rowmari working in Chirang district donated some medical safety materials or life-saving materials to Chirang district administration.

In a small function held in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office at Kajalgaon on Monday, Senior Divisional Manager of LICI Bongaigaon Divisional office TN Bhutia handed over 150 PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) kits and 750 N-95 masks to Additional Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Sarmah and Pranami Gark, Executive Director, The ANT (NGO), handed over 10 oxygen concentrators to Chirang Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar Shah for further distribution among the medical frontline workers in the presence of Marketing Manager SK Saha and Branch Manager Prakash Chakraborty from LICI, Election Officer Partha Pratim Baruah, and others.

Appreciating the efforts made by the Bongaigaon Division LICI and the ANT to prevent COVID-19 by donating medical safety materials, Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar Shah hoped that these materials would tremendously help the health department's frontline workers who had been dealing with COVID-19 positive persons, officials working in quarantine centres 24×7 and others.

Talking to media, he also said that the oxygen concentrators which were donated by the ANT would be installed at Jwhwlao Swmbla Basumatary (JSB) Civil Hospital, Kajalgaon and some of the PPE kits and masks would be distributed to the frontline workers.He appealed to other NGOs and organizations working in Chirang district to come forward and join the Chirang district administration in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic.
