Meet held for enforcement of Excise laws during the Assembly elections

DIBRUGARH: An inter-state/ district coordination meeting for enforcement of excise laws during the upcoming Assam Assembly Elections was held on Friday at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner's Office, Dibrugarh.

The meeting was chaired by Rakesh Kumar, Commissioner of Excise, Assam. Issues relating to constitution of district level task force comprising excise and police officials, daily reports on enforcement activities, coordination with police, district administration and excise officials of neighboring states for drive against illegal liquor, establishment of check posts at vulnerable locations along the border were discussed during the meeting.

Excise officials present in the meeting were asked to regularly monitor operations of all distilleries, Breweries, bottling plants and also asked to do regular checking of all wholesale warehouses and retail shops which are located in bordering areas. Deputy Commissioner, Dibrugarh, Pallav Gopal Jha, Superintendent of Police, Dibrugarh, Prateek Thube, DC & SPs of Tinsukia, Charaideo and Sivasagar districts, representatives of Mon district of Nagaland and Tirap and Changlang districts of Arunachal Pradesh attended the meeting and discussed several related issues in order to ensure smooth completion of the upcoming Assembly Elections 2021 in the state of Assam, stated a press release.
