Meet held on developmental issues of Doomdooma LAC

DOOMDOOMA: MLA of Doomdooma LAC Rupesh Gowala organized a meeting at Doomdooma on Friday afternoon to discuss the developmental issues of Doomdooma Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC). Headmaster of Rupai High School Prakash Dutta presided over the meeting which was attended by the representatives of various organisations and the civil society members of Doomdooma LAC.

Delivering the welcome address MLA Rupesh Gowala told that the purpose of convening the meeting was to get advice and suggestions from the public regarding the all-round development of the constituency. He also told that he was planning to hold a cultural meet at Doomdooma in the last part of January next showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the various ethnic tribes living in Doomdooma LAC.

Addressing the meeting the representatives of the various organisations and the civil society members put forwarded various suggestions for alround development of the constituency. The speakers urged the MLA to take initiative to declare Doomdooma a sub-division, to extend the current jurisdiction of Doomdooma Municipal Board area up to Rupai Siding, to upgrade the facilities of Doomdooma 30 Bedded FRU hospital and Phillobari Model Hospital, speeding up the construction of the washed away bridge over the Dibru river on old AT Road, permanent solution of flood and erosion problem of Kordoiguri area, construction of the rural roads of the constituency, etc.

MLA Gowala in his reply told that he would try to address the problems of the constituency in a phased manner. He also informed the meeting of various developmental works that he undertook after being elected as the legislator of the constituency.

An organizing committee was formed in the meeting for successfully organising the proposed cultural meet with MLA Rupesh Gowala as the president, the Circle Officer of Doomdooma Revenue Circle, Rananmoy Bhardwaj as the working president , Journalist Abhijit Khataniar as general secretary and Kishan Pareek as treasurer.
