Meet on women heart care held in Guwahati

Guwahati: To raise awareness about women’s heart health, the month of February is celebrated as the Women Heart Month worldwide. To mark the occasion GNRC, the premier healthcare organization of Eastern India organized a Women Heart Care Awareness Programme recently at its Dispur unit.

A free health check-up camp was organized on the occasion where the participants availed of the benefits.

Members of Heart Care Society of Assam- Guwahati chapter, Ushanagar Jonaki Sangha, Rupalim Mahila Chora, Dispur College Girls NSS unit and Satsori Women Socio-Economic Group actively participated in the programme, stated a press release.

An awareness talk was also organized on the occasion along with CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) training to the audience by Dr. Anupam Borgohain, Head-Emergency Medical Services, GNRC followed by a resourceful lecture by Dr. B R Das, Senior Cardiac Surgeon, Secretary, Heart Care Society.
