Meeting between small tea growers of Dibrugarh district, bought leaf factory owners

DIBRUGARH: A meeting between the Bought Leaf Factory Associations and Small Tea Growers' Associations of Dibrugarh district was held on Tuesday under the aegis of the Dibrugarh district administration at the conference hall of the office of the Deputy Commissioner to find an amicable solution regarding falling green leaf price and its quality. Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha chaired the meeting.

In the meeting, a mutual agreement was reached between the Small Tea Growers' Associations and Bought Leaf Factory Associations regarding cooperation and coordination on issues of quality and price of green leaves under strict monitoring of the district administration so that livelihood concerns of all the stakeholders were taken care of. The meeting was also attended by U K Deori, Assistant Director, Tea Board of India, Dibrugarh, Debasis Borah, SDO (S), and others.
