Meeting on district-level flood preparedness held in Golaghat

Golaghat: A district-level flood preparedness meeting was held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Friday. The Deputy Commissioner Bibhash Chandra Modi presided over the meeting where all concerned officials took part. In the meeting, a review was done about the previous flood scenario. A detailed discussion was held regarding the actions to be taken by all concerned for pre, during and post flood as per Disaster Management Manual. The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned officials to complete the ongoing activities before the flood season and ensure all manpower, resources and action plan to be ready within March 31.

UDALGURI: The district disaster management authority, Udalguri has organized a flood preparedness meeting at the DC conference hall. Prakash Ranjan Gharphalia DC and chairman of DDMA, addressed the meeting and reviewed the preparedness issues in respect of all important line department. All departmental heads have submitted their flood preparedness status including status of schemes under SDRF etc. in the meeting. Gokul Chandra Brahma, ADC in charge of SDO Bhergaon and Amarjyoti Barman, ADC Udalguri were also present in that meeting.

The Udalguri DC directed the circle officers to conduct circle level flood preparedness meeting immediately. He also directed all to prepare a action plan and submit the same. The DC also directed the additional director of Food & Civil Supply, Udalguri to take necessary action to asses and keep sufficient stock of essential commodities to meet any emergency requirement during flood situation.
