Meeting on road safety held in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: The 4th DRSC (District Road Safety Committee) meeting was held in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office, Kokrajhar on Thursday. Various aspects of road safety were discussed in the meeting held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka.

Joint efforts of Police and Transport department also discussed the issue of ensuring public awareness on various accidents. The 'No helmet no petrol' drive was also discussed with the dealers of the oil depots in the meeting.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of solving the real causes of road accidents. She also raised the issue of interrupter van in this regard. The main theme of the meeting was how to ensure the safety of the lives of the people by reducing road accidents.

Additional Superintendent of Police Surjit Singh Panesar; Satish Chandra Thakuria, Sub-Divisional Officer (C), Parbatjhora Sub-Division; and other officials were attend in the meeting.
