Mega Health Camp Held At Srijangram of Bongaigaon District

Bongaigaon: A mega health camp was held in Srijangram of Bongaigaon district on Monday. The camp was held at Dubasuri ME Madrassa at Merer Char under Srijangram BPHC. It was formally inaugurated by South Abhayapuri MLA Ananta Kr Malo.

The programme was attended by Bongaigaon Joint DHS Dr Ratna Basumatary, DCPO, SDM&HO, North Salmara, SDM&HO, Srijangram, officials and staff of NHM. With the rising cases of child marriage in the area, special thrust was given on sensitizing people about the ill effects of child marriage. Besides, PHE department conducted tests of water samples of the area.  The camp was held under the aegis of District Health Society, Bongaigaon and NHM. Over 1,000 patients were given free treatment and medicine at the camp. Various OPD departments also offered free counselling to the patients. An awareness meeting was also held alongside the camp. Stalls of various departments were also put to reach out to the patients.
