Meghalaya Girl Fall to Death in Guwahati Apartment
An investigation has been launched to ascertain the circumstances surrounding this tragic event, as the community mourns the loss of the young girl.
GUWAHATI: In a deeply saddening incident, a young girl lost her life in the Bamunimaidan locality of Guwahati after falling from a six-story building.
The incident unfolded at the Subansiri Apartment, located adjacent to the Government Press in Bamunimaidan, with the tragic fall occurring from Flat Number 6B within the apartment complex.
The deceased, identified as Tangsi K Sangma, originally hailing from Meghalaya, was discovered at the incident site. And her belongings, including her mobile phone, purse, and slippers, were also recovered from the location as well.
Sources have indicated that immediately following the incident, a couple fled from the flat where the incident took place. The flat's owner, identified as Najum Hazarika, had leased the premises.
In response to the incident, the city's police department, in conjunction with a forensic team, swiftly arrived at the scene. An investigation has been launched to ascertain the circumstances surrounding this tragic event, as the community mourns the loss of the young girl.
In a similar incident, the Principal of the Behali Degree College met an untimely death on Monday. He had reportedly fallen to death from his own building. Dr Jiban Chandra Nath was found dead at his home and the speculation is that he had fallen from the first floor of his house. His neighbours informed him that the teacher had gone for his morning walks before the incident took place. They mentioned that he was engaged in his daily chores after returning from the walks, but no one had any idea as to how he managed to fall to an untimely death.
A police team arrived at the location after the incident and sent the body for a post-mortem. According to the reports, no one else was at home when the incident took place and the neighbours informed the police about the incident. It can be noted that by the time the police team arrived at the location, the teacher had already passed away. The police team were able to recover a toothbrush and shoes near the body. A broken branch of the tree next to his house was also found next to the dead body, which he had probably tried to grab while falling.
