Memorial lecture of Putu Devi Pandey held at Pabitora hut

MORIGAON: The 2nd annual memorial lecture of Putu Devi Pandey was held at Pabitora hut on Friday. The 2nd annual memorial lecture event was organized by Morigaon district committee of Lekhika Santha, Asom. The editor in Chief of Prag News Prasanta Rajguru attended the as the keynote speaker in the 2nd annual memorial lecture programme. The Editor in Chief Prasanta Raj Guru spoke on the topic, ‘Women and Society’ (Narri Aru Samaj) at length in the well-patronized meeting. The president of Morigaon Zila Sahitya Sabha Mahendra Saikia lit the ceremonial lamp at the portrait of late Putu Devi Pandey. It was followed by a floral tribute by the former president of MZLS Renu Deka Bora. Morigaon Deputy Commissioner Devashis Sarma inaugurated the 2nd annual memorial lecture in presence of Superintendent of Police Hemanta Kr. Das, Vhimbar Deuri awardee Mileswar Pator, chief advisor of MASS Bubumoni Goswami and ex-secretary general Babul Bora, president of MDJA Birinchi Sarma and president of MZLS Sewali Sarma Barkotaki, secretary of MZLS Rita Mishra Goswami and senior journalist Ajit Sarma.

Addressing the media person Prasanta Raj Guru thanked Morigaon Zila Lekhika Santha for choosing the important topic on ‘Women and Society’. He said that choosing of such an important topic would surely benefit the society. He added, “If women do not play pioneer role towards women empowerment, then women empowerment would not be possible at all. Earlier, a felicitation programme was held where two meritorious students Krishtina Devi and Raktima Patar who secured 10th position in declaration of the result of HS 2023 were felicitated .
