Meritorious students felicitated in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: The Tinsukia District Journalists' Association (TDJA) under the aegis of Kakopathar Press Club, organized a special felicitation programme for the children of TDJA members who excelled in the HSLC and HS examinations in presence of their parents at Bishnu-Jyoti Sishu Bikash Kendra in Rangajan on Thursday.

Held with Anuj Kalita, president of TDJA, in the chair, this maiden event was addressed by inspirational notes from Arjun Baruah, president of Tinsukia district committee Axam Xahitya Xabha, Dr Rishi Das, former president of TDJA, Kamal Talukdar, vice-president South-East zone of AUWJ, and other dignitaries.

Ten students from HSLC and HS were felicitated with citation and phulam gamosa. Earlier, Bijoy Dutta, secretary of Kakopathar Press Club, welcomed the guests and parents. The students, while appreciating the TDJA's act of encouragement to children of fellow journalists, presented solo cultural items. The programme was followed by an executive meeting chaired by Anuj Kalita where several resolutions were adopted.
