Mini library inaugurated at Sivasagar District Jail

JOYSAGAR: Under the welfare programme for jail inmates and introduced by the State Legal Services Cell in collaboration with the Assam State Jail Services Authority, a mini library has been set up in the Sivasagar District Jail premises.

The mini library was formally inaugurated by a renowned social worker and the chief librarian of the Nazira College, Dr. Rajendra Mohan Sarmah on Monday. Dr. Sarmah contributed books and journals worth about Rs 25,000 from his own salary and other books and newspapers were contributed by many conscious citizens as well as legal service personnel.
