Minister and MLAs of Chatiya distribute ration to daily wage labourers

Biswanath Chariali: In the wake of the outbreak of COVID-19, Minister Ranjit Dutta and the MLAs of Chatiya and Gohpur LACs, Padma Hazarika and Utpal Borah respectively, distributed ration to the daily wage labourers of tea gardens and the poor people who do not have any means to buy ration.

According to information, minister Ranjit Dutta distributed ration among the needy at several places falling under his home constituency of Behali. He also assured all possible help to the people in distress at this crucial moment. MLA Hazarika distributed ration in Dikorai Tea Estate, Gelahatinga, New Monai, Monai and Diplonga located at Itakhola in Biswanath district. Each packet of the ration comprised of rice 5 kg, dal 1 kg, potato 1 kg and onion 1 kg. He also called upon the labourers to follow the norms of the lockdown declared by the government and to maintain social distancing.

MLA Hazarika distributed ration in other parts of the Chatiya LAC. Gohpur MLA Utpal Borah also distributed ration among the poor people who do not possess ration cards in various places of the Gohpur constituency, including Takaubari, Halem, Kalabari and Gohpur.
