KOKRAJHAR: Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs and Irrigation, and Guardian Minister of Kokrajhar district Ashok Singhal, who is on a two-day visit to Kokrajhar district from November 13, on Monday held a review meeting on the status of departmental activities along with various flagship programmes of all the entrusted departments of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) with the Council Heads Departments of entrusted departments in the presence of Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro, Executive Members, Principal Secretary and departmental Secretaries here at the conference hall of the BTC Secretariat.

The Guardian Minister reviewed the implementation status of various flagship schemes of Urban Development department, Panchayat and Rural Development, Public Health Engineering Department, Public Works Department, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Health and Family Welfare, Forest, Education, Tourism, Food Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs, Sports, Sericulture, Handloom and Textiles, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Irrigation, Museum and Archaeology and Library Services.

During the meeting, the minister asked all the Council Heads and department secretaries to work on "mission mode" for better implementation of all government schemes for the welfare of poor. "The pace of work should not be slow. We have to move forward with a good pace and have to work on all fronts", he added.

Talking to the media, Minister Singhal said that as Guardian Minister of the district, he has taken care of all development works aimed at accelerating the pace of development in BTR districts as the Chief Minister always wants to have equal development in BTR along with other parts of the state. He also informed that the council has decided to appoint a Guardian Executive Member for all the subdivisions of BTR to monitor and examine all the schemes for proper implement at a faster pace.

On the other hand, BTR Chief Pramod Boro said that today in the presence of the Guardian Minister, they have been able to resolve many issues related to slow progress of works. He hoped that if they could take all these outcome at the implementation level, then the pace of development of BTR would increase very fast.
