TEZPUR: Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare, Power, Cultural Affairs and Tourism, Bimal Bora felicitated Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd (APDCL) officials with traditional Assamese gamosa in APDCL Subdivisional office in Tezpur for taking action against two organizations involved in power theft. The officers of APDCL felicitated by the minister are Sobhan Saikia, CEO, Tezpur, Liton Dutta, AGM (i/c), B D Roy, AGM, IRCA, Tezpur and others.
The team of APDCL comprising of these officials unearthed illegal electrical connection taken by two private firms, namely Wood Craft and Brahmaputra Papers of Tezpur a few days back. The minister took this initiative of felicitating them as a token of appreciation. The minister also held a meeting at the office of the Electrical Division of APDCL, Tezpur with the officers and took stock of the status of collection of revenue. He appreciated the measures taken by them for the collection of revenue from various households in terms of electrical bill and expressed his satisfaction regarding their services towards the public and gradually increasing volume of revenue.
He also appealed to the APDCL officials that in return of the public's response towards the appeal made by the government for payment of remaining dues, the department should focus on providing good service in terms of supply of electricity 24×7. "The future of our State very much depend upon our enthusiasm in terms of industrialization," the minister said.
