Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah reviews Jal Jeevan Mission implementation in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR: A review meeting on the implementation of the current status of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Sivasagar district was held at Sivasagar Yuvadal on Tuesday evening.

The meeting was chaired by PHED, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Tourism Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah in presence of Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission & Swachh Bharat Mission (G), Assam Kailash Karthik, Sivasagar District Commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav with the officials of PHED, Sivasagar and department contractors.

Reviewing the progress of the work of JJM in the district in detail, the minister urged the departmental contractors to complete the remaining works expeditiously. Kailash Karthik, Managing Director of JJM & SBM-G, said in the context of the speech that 54 per cent of the work on JJM has been completed in Sivasagar district and the target is to complete 100 per cent by December this year.

Earlier, Aditya Vikram Yadav, Sivasagar District Commissioner, delivered the welcome address. The meeting was also attended by Sushanta Borgohain, MLA of Thowra.
