Minister Pijush Hazarika distributed cheques to PMAY (U) beneficiaries in Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: Pijush Hazarika, Minister of State for Urban Development Department and Health and Family Welfare, ceremonially distributed cheques to PMAY (U) beneficiaries in Lakhimpur on Monday. On this occasion, a ceremonial programme was organized at North Lakhimpur Municipal Board (NLMB) conference hall. Attending the programme as chief guest, the minister distributed the PMAY (U) cheques of Rs, 80,000 to five beneficiaries out of 130 targeted beneficiaries under the NLMB area. In the same programme, the minister inaugurated the construction work of 18 municipal roads. Prior to the programme, the minister laid the foundation stone for the construction PMAY (U) house of one beneficiary named KhagenKonwar, resident of Ward No 4. In the same programme, the minister distributed the cheque for the loan of Rs. 10,000 to 10 street vendors under North Lakhimpur Municipal Board granted under PM SVANidhi Yojana. Notably, PM SVANidhi (Prime Minister Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi) aims to target over 50 lakh street vendors across the nation, who will be eligible to avail of a working capital loan of up to Rs 10,000 to bring relief to them under the ambit of the AtmaNirbhar package.

CEO of NLMB, Debashish Goswami delivered the welcome address in the programme, which was held under the management of CPM of NULM, Anjanjyoti Baruah. Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah, MLA Utpal Dutta and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Jeevan B were present as guests of honour.
