LAKHIMPUR: Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Civil Supply and Consumer Affair Minister Ranjeet Dass on Sunday inaugurated several government offices and institutions in Lakhimpur district.
During the day-long visit to the district, the minister at first inaugurated the Agri-service and Processing Center at Dilippur under Pothali Pahar area. Then he inaugurated the Veterinary Common Training Centre at Pothali Pahar, Agri-Service and Processing Centre at No. 2 Rajbari village under Bihpuria area and Yarn Cocoon Bank at Kholaguri under the same area.
Taking part in a public meeting at Agri-Service and Processing Centre at Bihpuria, Ranjeet Dass said that a fund amounting to Rs 45 crore was allotted to Lakhimpur district under Shyama Prasad Mukharji Urban Mission for the development of the farmers' community. "At present, more than 50 projects have been under implementation in the district with the investment of this allotted fund. Development of the farmers' community is inevitable for the development of the State and the nation", the minister said while appealing to the farmers of the district to adopt scientific method of farming instead of the traditional system.
Thereafter, Ranjit Dass inaugurated the newly-constructed office building of Naoboicha Development Block and the conference hall of Boginadi Development Block. In the course of the programmes, Ranjeet Dass was assisted by Bihpuria MLA Dr Amiya Kumar Bhuyan, Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan, Lakhimpur Zila Parishad Executive Officer Tripurrndra Pator, chairperson Manju Borgohain, and Lakhimpur district unit BJP president Phanidhar Baruah.
