Minister reviews development works in Dhubri

DHUBRI, July 4: Food and Civil Supplies Minister Phani Bhushan Choudhury, in his one-day visit to Dhubri district, held meeting with heads of the department and reviewed all the ongoing and pending development works at the DC conference hall on Tuesday. After giving a patient hearing to the appraisal reports of works by district-level high officials of each and every department, Choudhury, an in-charge minister for Dhubri district, ordered to expedite the works and complete them in stipulated time.

“I am taking stock of the development works in the form of meeting with you all here today, but next time I will straight move to the site of the works and inspect and review them physically on the spot. Moreover, you should also increase visiting sites of works and see and monitor their progress,”

Choudhury added. Choudhury informed that Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had asked him by giving charge of Dhubri, Goalpara and some other districts recently to review the progress of works and ensure proper implementation of them. While appealing to all the officials to focus on speedy implementation of works, Choudhury informed that Dhubri being one of the 116 backward districts in the country, bracketed as a high priority district so its indicator of improvement in all departments should go up at any cost.

Earlier, Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Anant Lal Gyani welcomed and greeted the minister with phulam gamosa and presented an overall report of pending and ongoing works in Dhubri district.
