TEZPUR: Minister for Labour Welfare Sanjoy Kishan on Friday reviewed the implementation of various Central Government schemes in Sonitpur district in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Bhupesh Chandra Das, CEO, Zilla Parishad Diganta Baishya, ADC Romy Baruah, BDOs, EOs of various Municipal Boards and others.

He directed all officials to work to improve the performance of all the schemes as they are being directly monitored by the PMO and asked the DC to ensure regular monitoring of the progress of works. He asked the officials to ensure that the benefits of the schemes reach the poor and the needy and asked all present to work in coordination to make all the schemes a success. He directed the officials concerned to look into certain issues arising in implementation of DBT schemes and for early resolution of the same.

DC Bhupesh Ch Das apprised the minister about the progress of various priority schemes of the government in the district and success achieved in COVID-19 vaccination, Jal Jeevan Mission, among others.

The minister later visited various beneficiaries of government schemes under Rangapara LAC and had a one-on-one interaction with these beneficiaries at their homes. He met Bharati Tanti, a beneficiary who had received financial assistance under the CM's COVID Widow Support Scheme and is also receiving Widow Pension. He then interacted with Subangi Kalondi, a beneficiary of Old Age Pension scheme, Angita Gowala, a beneficiary of Widow Pension, Bindia Kerketa, a beneficiary under CM's COVID Widow Support Scheme, and Rutho Tanti, a beneficiary of Atal Amrit Abhiyan and several others during his visit.
