Minor girl brutally murdered in Pengeree; mother arrested, probe underway

DIGBOI: Sensetions gripped Pengeree in Tinsukia district following a gruesome murder of a school-going minor daughter allegedly at the hands of her mother here on early Saturday morning. According to police, the mother allegedly involved in perpetrating the heinous crime was arrested by Pengaeree police on Saturday afternoon. Interrogation was afoot to unearth more details in the case.

The corpse of the 5 years old innocent victim was found hanging at her residence at Khatanpani village while the body bore several cut marks with sharp weapons. The reason behind the act was yet to be officially ascertained. However, the locals suspected the incident as an outcome of an extra marital affairs of the victim’s mother. Ironically, the father of the victim girl was also untraced past a week.
