Minor girl raped, accused absconding in Margherita

MARGHERITA: A father of three girls has been accused of raping a minor in Margherita under Tinsukia district, triggering tension among the local residents.

According to sources, the accused Ajgar Talukdar, son of Tashir Ali Talukdar, resident of Hill View Margherita, took the victim in his car and alleged raped her in his garage. The victim's family members said that Ajgar Talukdar was inebriated when the incident occurred and fled from the spot.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at Margherita Police Station case number 15/2022 U/S 376(3) IPC R/W Section 4 of POCSO Act. Margherita Police sent the victim to Margherita Civil Hospital for medical check up while the accused, Ajgar Talukdar is absconding till filing of this report.
