Minor girl rescued, one arrested by Darrang Police

MANGALDAI: The prompt initiative of Darrang Police led to the successful rescue of a minor girl aged about 16 years. Her abductor was arrested within four hours.

According to information, one Makbul Ali (20), son of Mister Ali of village Saloipara under Mangaldai Police Station, on June 13 allegedly abducted the minor girl of the same village with the intention of marrying her forcibly. He held her in captivity at some unknown location. However, the family members of the minor girl informed the police.

Mangaldai Police immediately registered a case vide number 254/21 U/S 366 IPC. Taking the matter seriously, Superintendent of Police Sushanta Biswa Sarma initiated all arrangements for successful recovery of the girl and subsequent arrest of the accused person.
