Miscreants demand money using Dhubri Deputy Commissioners photo

DHUBRI: Staff and few Additional Deputy Commissioners of Dhubri district administration was taken aback on Monday when they got posts in their WhatsApp with the picture of Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Anbamuthan MP, asking for money in the form of gift cards of Amazon, each of Rs 10,000.

Officials informed that altogether 11 DC office staff and some additional Deputy Commissioners received this post wherein 11 gift cards were demanded from each. Later, this was brought to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner. He said that fraudsters were behind it. The DC also advised all to be held alert in view of this post.

The matter was sent to the police cyber crime for investigation, an official said.
