Missing HSLC candidate Biswajit Borah commits suicide in Gaurisagar

GAURISAGAR: Sensation prevailed at Jhanji Phulpanichiga Bamun village under Gaurisagar Police Station in Sivasagar district on Saturday evening after Biswajit (Babu) Borah, son of Padma Borah of the village, allegedly committed suicide by hanging from a tree near a forest in his house.

He had been missing since February 1. According to family sources, Biswajit Borah had been missing since the evening of February 1. Family members lodged an FIR at Gaurisagar Police Station.

On Saturday morning, two persons of the village went to the field by crossing the forest. They saw a body hanging from a tree. They immediately informed Biswajit’s family members and they rushed to the spot and identified the body.

Later, family members informed Gaurisagar Police Station. Dadu Bora, officer in-charge of Gaurisagar Police Station, rushed the spot and brought the body for postmortem. Biswajit Borah was supposed to appear for the HSLC exam this year from Jhanji HS School.
