

GUWAHATI: Nalbari police have recovered a missing married woman's body digging a sand bar off the Pagladia river.
According to reports, Rinkumoni Kalita, a mother of a girl child and wife of Kailash Kalita from Rangia, had gone missing under mysterious circumstances while she returned home from her paternal resident on September 29 this year.
Her family members filed missing complaints with the Rangia and Baihata police stations.
However, the police could not find out the whereabouts of the woman. On Sunday night, acting on a tip-off the Nalbari and Ghagrapar police arrested one Jagadish Das, son of Achyut Das from Mazarbari in connection with the incident.
Based on his confession, the police arrested two more persons identified as Chandan Kalita and Sanjit Kalita.
During their interrogation, they revealed to the police that they had killed the woman and buried the dead body under the sand bar of the Pagladia river.
Accordingly, the police recovered the body from the Pagladia river sand bar and sent it to the Sashid Mukunda Kakoty Civil Hospital for postmortem.
The police identified Jagadish Kalita as the prime accused of the murder. " It was a pre-planned murder," police sources said.
On the other hand, two students of Phillobari were drowned on Sunday afternoon when they reportedly went to take bath at Namhollong Irrigation Project thereafter playing football. Their dead bodies were recovered by the SDRF personnel. They have been identified as Samiron Moran and Alpojyoti Moran. It is further learnt that both of them were good footballers.
