SILCHAR: Hundreds of goods-laden trucks bound for Mizoram have been stranded for the last 48 hours at Lyllapur, the hotspot on Assam-Mizoram border. The truckers are scared of the muscle-flexing miscreants backed by armed police.

Assam ADGP GP Singh was upset when he visited the LP School at Dholakhal that was blown up in a bomb blast, creating a sense of panic among the residents. The ADGP was accompanied by DIG Southern Range Dilip Kumar Singh, Cachar DC KeerthiJalli, SP BL Meena and other high administrative and police officials.

Who triggered the blast and why? Villagers gave enough indication that all this was the handiwork of Mizo miscreants. ADGP GP Singh hinted that the blast would be investigated by a central agency. But, the question is when everything was returning to normalcy after high-level talks between the administrative and police officials of both the states, was it not an indication that unless foolproof security measures are taken on Assam border, nothing could stop Mizo bellicosity?

Apart from the blown up LP School, ADGP GP Singh who made a survey of the disturbed areas of Hawaithang and Khulicherra on Assam land and Phainoon, Chitafai and Vereingte on the Mizoram side along with Kolasib SP Vanlalfaka could see for himself how Mizo armed police men and miscreants have amassed themselves on the border. Belligerent Mizos were seen carrying on construction on a hillock, quite unmoved. After surveying the area, the ADGP said further that high-level talks would be held to evolve a lasting solution.
