Modern conference hall of Tyagbir Hem Baruah College inaugurated in Jamugurihat

A CORRESPONDENT

JAMUGURIHAT: A modern conference hall of Tyagbir Hem Baruah College, Jamugurihat constructed under MLA fund at a cost of Rs 20 lakh was formally inaugurated by Padma Hazarika, MLA of Sootea LAC, on Monday.

In this connection, a meeting was organized with Ganesh Pathak, former Principal of the college, in the chair. The meeting began with a performance of a borgeet by Okuntitha Garg. After inaugurating the conference hall, MLA Padma Hazarika unveiled the college magazine edited by Deepshikha Saikia.

Chintabitan, a collection of 28 articles which have been published by Tridhara Sahitya Chora - a literary body of the faculty members of the Assamese, English and the Nepali departments- and Comparative Anatomy and Development Biology of Vertebrates: For CBCS, students of GU/DU/Assam University by Dr. Ajit Hazarika, the Principal of the college, were released by the chairman of the meeting.

Snatak Mahalar Byabaharik Padartha Bigyan, jointly compiled by Dr. Rashna Rajkhowa and Deepan Kumar Sarma, and Dr. Rashna Rajkhowa's Chinaki Ghatanar Boigyanik Byakhya were released by Pallavpran Goswami; the commandant of 12th AP Battalion, the chief guest of the function.

Indra Prasad Saikia, former professor of the college and a prominent writer, unveiled the books Abstract of research work of the Faculties edited by Dr. Amal Saikia and News Letter edited by Ramesh Dabari. Dramatist Pankaj Jyoti Bhuyan released the book Snatak Moholar Sarir Bigyan aaru Jiba Bigyan jointly compiled by Dr. Sanjib Upadhyaya and Dr. Rimlim Dutta. Before the inauguration of the modern conference hall, MLA Padma Hazarika inaugurated a girls' common room and a flag pad.
