Modi government's good governance boosted India's economic growth: Sarbananda Sonowal

TINSUKIA: The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal interacted with the beneficiaries of various welfare schemes launched by the Narendra Modi led government and exchanged views with them at a public gathering in Tinsukia on Thursday. Addressing the beneficiaries, the Union Minister said that eight years of Modi government's 'sushasan' or good governance has boosted India's social welfare, economic growth and ease of living of its citizens. The minister had the opportunity to interact with the beneficiaries of Prime Minister's Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) among others, stated a press release.

Speaking at the event, the Union Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal said, "Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modiji, the people of India are finally realising the long aspired social welfare. The efficient deliverance of these welfare schemes was the direct result of Modiji's dedication & commitment to India and its people. His energy towards achieving this end still amazes me over & gives me strength to continue my journey in pursuit of best for people's welfare. The promise of change was delivered through peace agreements, revolutionary infrastructure development and most importantly adhering to the importance & role of Northeast in the cause of nation building. We must seize this wonderful opportunity provided by Modiji and give wings to our hopes & dreams for a peaceful, prosperous, & progressive Assam & Northeast."

Attacking the Congress for their misgovernance in the country, Sarbananda Sonowal said, "We must not forget the febrile atmosphere the country was left with, after six decade of dynastic politics by the Congress. The vicious effect of this cacophony led to demise of meritocracy and regressive socio economic policies affecting people's ease of living for so many years. We all know how the Northeast and Assam suffered tremendously under the Congress governments. People found in Modiji an able leader who has the vision and commitment to scuttle through this immense hung-up onto an India of hope and prosperity. Our aspirations to be part of national conscience were only made possible when Modiji took special interest in Northeast. His love, dedication and commitment towards Northeast is crystal when he referred it as the Astalakshmi & the new growth engine of India."
