Money fraudulently withdrawn from bank account of a resident of Sarupathar

SARUPATHAR: A person, about 70 years of age and a resident of Sarupathar in Golaghat district, has alleged that Rs 80,000 was withdrawn from his bank account from an ATM in Jharkhand. The victim, Harendra Nath Gogoi, has now lodged a complaint with the authority of State Bank of India, Sarupathar branch.

Talking to media persons, Gogoi said that on February 24, Rs 40,000 and on February 25, Rs 40,000 had been withdrawn from his account from an ATM in Jharkhand. He was quick to add that he had not received any fraud calls. Harendra Nath Gogoi went to the Sarupathar branch of SBI to lodge a complaint but the bank manager allegedly did not take any action and advised him to lodge a complaint at the local police station.
