BISWANATH CHARIALI: Halem police, with assistance from a static surveillance team, seized a huge amount of money during routine search operation at Halem under Gohpur subdivision in Biswanath district on Tuesday evening.

According to information, three persons, namely Jadav Borah, Mintu Kumar Kalita and Alok Kumar Nath were travelling in an Alto car along with the money when police stopped them for checking. Police recovered Rs 31,32, 400 from their possession. However, the persons claimed themselves to be broiler chicken traders who were going to deposit the money in a bank after collecting it from poultry farmers. Police handed over the money to Gohpur treasury for investigation.
