BAKSA: Erosion in the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) is continuing even after the BTC poll. On Wednesday, 512 people from various political parties, including BPF and GanaSuraksha Party (GSP) joins the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). On this occasion a meeting was held in the premises of NagrijuliMandal BJP office which was presided over by Ram Dahal, president of Baksa district BJP.

In presence of new BJP leader and MLA of No 58 Tamulpur LAC and MCLA of No 27 Nagrijuli BTC constituency, former president of Minority Cell of Tamulpur District BPF, Alauddin Ahmed joined the BJP along with his 300 followers who came from BPF. Moreover, another 212 persons also joined the BJP at the same meeting. After the joining programme, Emanuel Moshahary told media persons, "People are joining the BJP since the BTC polls. We have a target of making 80,000 join the party. Already the number has reached 56,000. Another 14,000 to 15,000 will join before the forthcoming Legislative Assembly election. People are joining the BJP because they want development."
