Morigaon survey identifies progressive farmers of District

MORIGAON: The National Horticulture Board, Guwahati office, under its scheme ‘Technology Development and Transfer for promotion of Horticulture’ had conducted a four-day survey programme in Morigaon district in which experts from IIHR, Bangalore were team members along with local scientists from HRS, Kahikuchi and KVK, Morigaon and the State Department of Horticulture and FP. The main objective of the survey was to identify the progressive farmers of the district, understand their problems and other difficulties and plan the training programme at IIHR, Bangalore as per their requirement. This is the very first time that the training module has been planned as per the farmers’ requirement. During the survey programme, the district administration had extended full support. Now after this, the National Horticulture Board plans to send the first batch of 25 farmers to IIHR, Bangalore for 21 days training.
