Guwahati: The body of Niraj Das, the prime accused of the Jorhat lynching case, who died in a road accident last night, was taken to his home on Wednesday.

His body was, reportedly taken in a private vehicle to home.

So far, the Jorhat police have arrested 13 people including prime accused Niraj Das in the horrific broad daylight lynching case.

Niraj died while trying to flee from police custody on Tuesday night. Some of his family members wept when his body reached home.

The accused was a serial offender against whom several cases were registered.

On Monday, a large group of people led by Niraj brutally thrashed three youths from the Golaghat district in the Jorhat town.

Animesh Bhuyan, a students' leader who was among the victims died in the attack. The other two also received severe injury and are currently undergoing treatment.
